The Right Job

November 29, 2009

It has become a rarity to find people serving their job for the whole tenure. The rate of job changing has increased manifold and has nearly become a trend in the last few years. The question "what is the right job for me?" was an exclusive one, among the fresh college graduates, asked before and after graduation. Nowadays, people from every age group in their thirties, forties and fifties are also asking the same question. It has become a common query with people facing a mid-life career crisis. "What is the right job for me" is intrinsic to those who have to pick up a job after leaving the old.

The eyebrows raised, when someone talks about a job change, remains unmoved. Though a job change can cause financial instability and insecurity for the person and the family as well,  people switch jobs with any prospective career opportunity. Job change, considered a life changing task, has become a routine with people moving for better prospects in their job.

There should be a compatibility in your personality and the job as the fulfillment of a job is measured according to the personality of the person. The job should have features within the area of work preferred by the person. It is also necessary to understand the level of flexibility of the person and how he accommodates the requirements of the job.

A right job is the one with factors that motivates from within. Job satisfaction comes naturally if the work is interesting and provides a feeling of achievement after completion. There should be monetary and social incentives to act as a source of external motivation.

Every person has skills with which he can give the best input to a job. The right job should offer the right opportunities to which his skills can be used in the most optimum way. A person acquires skill through natural inborn abilities and aptitudes honed with training and experiences.

A job should generate enough money to enable a lifestyle you prefer. It should not contradict with the integrity, religious beliefs and ethical values of the person. A job is a part of an organization with people providing products and services which should be compatible with personal values.

Every job has limitations which may not be suitable for you. The compensation and job location should be considered with their effects on personal life. Education and other factors such as physical disabilities, should be covered while selecting a job.

The right job should meet your needs for the long run and enable you to settle down when time comes. The job should have long-term prospects including growth and stability in the organization. Factors related to retirement benefits, promotion and others should be at par with your needs.

The opportunities should be compatible with the objective you want to pursue. If there is no opportunity, then there can be no prize. The opportunities in the job can be researched through advertisements, training centers, agencies etc.

Whenever the question "what is the right job for me?" comes up, look for these tips to help you in choosing the right one. Also, make sure that all your needs are covered before deciding upon a job.

Be Creative

November 28, 2009

No matter what walk of life you may find yourself in, creativity is an asset. There are people creative in career endeavors or in putting together dinner parties. It adds spice and zip to life, not only to your own life but to the lives of those around you.

There are some ways to stimulate your creativity.

When we repeatedly perform the same tasks over and over, there's a natural tendency to find ourselves giving little awareness to what we are doing. To stimulate your creative juices try going a different way to work, turning down a different street. When you comb your hair, put the part on the other side. Stir your coffee with the other hand. Brush your teeth with the other hand. It will feel a bit peculiar, but you'll be very much in the moment.

Just as Mozart or Beethoven may have written a theme, and then variations, be creative. Practice this same approach in your day-to-day life. There are many things that we do without much thought or enthusiasm. Find a way to make them more fun and more interesting. Find ways to stimulate your creativity in every little task you do. Anything that must be done more than once is an opportunity to use your creativity. It's a way of creating a slight variation each time; not just once but every time. Dare to be creative. Make it a game to come up with a slightly new twist. Just changing the time or location can make a difference. You will create an experience that feels totally new. Change your writing style, vary what you normally say or how you say it; write more or less than you usually do. All these things can get your creative juices going.

Try some new food that you've never had before. Consider something that maybe you've always avoided but never really tried. So, how do you know that you don't like it? Be creative, visit a new restaurant. Be bold and daring if you've always been conservative. Try a different sauce, maybe some foods that don't normally go together. You might just come up with something totally new; maybe even start a new trend.

Taking on something new makes us stretch. It creates new pathways in the brain. It stimulates brain activity and causes us to feel a greater sense of wellness and being alive. So, if you've never taken yoga or martial arts, or a belly dance class, try it. Be creative. Perhaps try painting or take up playing an instrument. Try something you've never done before, maybe something you've even secretly thought that you didn't have the ability for. Stretch and try something new. Guaranteed to get the creative juices flowing. And you might just discover a talent you didn't know you had!

Mozart's music played in schools affect the minds of the young students hearing it. They are more creative and they performe better. Listen to some music that is a theme with variations to stimulate your creativity and get those creative juices flowing. You hear the same thing presented many different ways. It is particularly helpful if you are a musician or a music lover. And you certainly can't go wrong by choosing Mozart either.

If you try the above-mentioned ways to stimulate your crativity, you'll find yourself paying more attention to your day. You'll find yourself more creative. You'll find yourself more involved in your day and you'll find it more interesting too! By constantly thinking and making conscious choices, you are stimulating, using and practicing your creativity. And then when called upon to perform, it is honed and ready to go to work for you.

Joanna Wang

November 27, 2009

Joanna Wang (born on August 1, 1988) is a Taiwanese singer-songwriter, daughter of famous music producer Ji-ping "Bing" Wang. Born in Taipei but raised in Los Angeles, she graduated from Gabrielino High School in 2006. Her debut album, Start From Here, was released in January 2008 as a double-disc set, one in English and the other in Chinese. The song "Start From Here" is superb and always grips me. Also included is "I Love You", her take on David Tao's popular ballad "Love is Simple". The album reached No.1 in Taiwan, making her the biggest surprise from last year's mando-pop scene, and has been popular throughout the Southeast Asian region. In June 2008, it was released in Japan.

As she was partially raised in the United States, she was exposed to many classic pop music acts, like The Beatles, Queen, and Oingo Boingo. Among her major influences are Danny Elfman, Yoeko Kurahashi, Paul McCartney, and video game soundtracks, most notably those from the Castlevania, Zelda, and Mario series.

She is known for her unique sounds and flair for songwriting. Her voice is refreshingly smoky and soulfuland. She doesn't sound Chinese at all. Some listeners even compare her to Norah Jones and Lisa Ono. She is also a left-handed guitarist. She has been gifted with unique jazz vocals that have earned her applause since her early teens. She has performed some of her own works and has covered various popular songs in English and in Chinese on Taiwanese TV programs. Her live concert in Shanghai in June was a great success. She mesmerized everyone with her deep voice However, she suspended her singing career to go to America to further her studies and held a farewell concert in August. Bags and Women

November 26, 2009

Bags to women are like cars to men. They're one of the things that they splurge on - they can probably create a collection out of the bags that they own. They can't seem to have enough bags. The choices are endless. Every design is as important as every color and every size is as important as every brand. Bags have become a part of their everyday lives that they can't leave home without it.

With every brand come different styles thus broadening the variety of bags they can choose from. For every outfit put together, there's a corresponding bag suitable for it. For every color, there's a bag to go along for it. Branded bags have also created a whirlwind in society and tote bags are the most wanted style. Every girl wants one and every girl amazingly finds ways to get one. The length to which a girl would go for a bag is endless. Some use it for carrying purposes – the main use of a bag while others use it for show. Aside from its main functionality of storage and portability, bags also add to aesthetics. They appear great and make an outfit look great too. Some have simply found a passion in owning bags. But whatever the reason for collecting more and more bags, the fact remains that bags will always be an important accessory to women and bags are there to stay.

After all, bags are women's best accessory. Sometimes, an outfit would be a disaster without it.
